Financial management of Tila 1 hydropower project led by NMB Bank
Kathmandu. NMB Bank Limited has successfully completed the financial management as the lead bank for the Tila 1 Hydropower Project located in Calikot district with a capacity of 440 MW according to the production permit. Promoted by SC Power Company Pvt Ltd, this project is being constructed in Tila Khola and its total estimated cost is 59.4 billion rupees. Out of the total cost, the Consortium Cofinancing Group of Banks will provide term loans worth Rs 44.55 billion.
In this financial management, NMB Bank Limited is the lead bank, while Global IME Bank Limited, Himalayan Bank Limited and Prabhu Bank Limited are the co-lead banks. Besides, other banks and financial institutions are also involved as member banks.
This agreement was signed by Mr. Dinesh Dulal, Assistant General Manager on behalf of NMB Bank Limited and Ms. Susan Karmacharya, President on behalf of SC Power Company Pvt Ltd. Based on the installed capacity, this is the largest hydropower project developed by the private sector so far. SC Power Company Pvt Ltd is headed by Ms. Susan Karmacharya and her group. According to the power purchase agreement of this 440 MW project, the designated year of commercial operation is December 31, 2030. In the first year of operation, it is estimated that this project will generate revenue equal to 11.4 billion rupees.
