Feasibility study for creating a lake in the confluence area of Myagdi, Parbat and Kaski
Myagdi. A feasibility study has been started to build a lake in the watershed area of Kalanjar Hampal, a natural and religious tourist spot on the border of Myagdi, Parbat and Kaski districts. A study has been started for the construction of a lake that attracts tourists in the Jaljala area extending to Annapurna Rural Municipality of Myagdi, Jaljala Rural Municipality of Parbat, Modi Rural Municipality and Annapurna Rural Municipality of Kaski district.
The Vice President of Jaljala Rural Municipality, Deepak Acharya, informed that studies have been started to develop the area, which is full of open grasslands and hilly landforms at an altitude of 3,200 meters, as a religious and tourist destination in the long term.
In the current financial year, Irrigation and Water Resources Management Project Office Pokhara has allocated a budget of Rs. In order to study the feasibility, a team including people's representatives, representatives of political parties and employees, led by the head of the office, Viduraman Shrestha, conducted an on-site inspection of the lake construction site last week.
Vice President Acharya said that the team directly observed the geographical features, feasibility, environmental impact, availability of water resources and long-term effects of the proposed lake construction site.
