Extended meeting of RSVP: Insist on election on announced date

Chitwan. The two-day extended meeting of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party RSWP was concluded on Saturday night in Sauraha. The meeting has decided to draw the attention of the government along with the parties to prepare the basis for clean, fair and fear-free elections for the members of the House of Representatives announced for February 21.

The meeting also called on all political parties to actively participate in the election process and strengthen democratic practice. The meeting has also urged all structures, members and well-wishers of the party to engage in public opinion formation so that the result of the declared election is in the best interest of the country and the people and in favor of the party. 

A statement released by RSVP spokesperson Manish Jha said, "We specifically request the party structure and ranks to focus on effective planning and implementation so that people's trust is expressed through votes in favor of the vision, agenda and candidates put forward by the party."

RSVP has also demanded a fair investigation of the incidents that happened during the Genji demonstration and the culprits should be punished. In the statement, it is also demanded to ensure their participation in the state agencies in accordance with the spirit and mandate of the Genji Movement in the coming days.

According to the statement, it has been decided to further organize and encourage the strengthening of internal democracy and inclusiveness of the RSWP, to address the voices and proposals expressed in favor of party transformation within the legal process, and to gradually widen the environment to ensure the participation of all levels of committees and members in the decision-making process.
