Election security: India-Nepal border closed at Koshi from February 18 night

Biratnagar. Aiming at the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21, the security arrangements in the Nepal-India border area will be tightened. It has been decided to completely close the border for 72 hours to ensure the fairness and peaceful environment of the elections.

The joint meeting between security chiefs of Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari districts of Koshi province on the Nepal side and security officers of Kishanganj district, Araria district and Supaul district on the Indian side has reached this agreement.

Accordng to the agreement, the border crossing will be closed from the night of February 18th to the night of February 21st. During that period, all other types of traffic will be banned except for essential services.
