Kathmandu. Minister of Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has said that the environment for the elections announced for the next February 21 has been prepared.
In an interaction with Minister Kharel, who is visiting South Korea, on Friday, Federation of Nepalese Journalists, South Korea branch, he claimed that a favorable environment for elections has been prepared in the country.
According to him, the preparations to make the election easy, safe and fearless have reached the final stage. Kharel, who is also the spokesperson of the government, said that the political parties and the government should jointly create an election-friendly environment and said that this government's priorities are focused on good governance, corruption control and job creation along with the continuation of the democratic process.
Mentioning that the Nepalis abroad want a government focused on stability, good governance and development, Minister Kharel said, you all have the desire to make the country better. We will try to lay some structural foundation within five months. This government is not allowed to do wrong
According to Kharel, addressing the issues raised by the Genji movement, an all-sided discussion will be started on improving the electoral system and governance structure. The electoral system must be less expensive, transparent and efficient. The legal process has progressed to ensure voting rights for Nepalis living abroad. If necessary, arrangements will be made through an ordinance, he said.
