Kathmandu. Monsoon winds are now directly affecting the country. According to the Department of Water and Weather Forecasting, the low pressure line of Monsoon is located in the vicinity of Sardar place in the east and near Nepal in the north of Sardar place in the west.

At present, moderate rains are occurring in many parts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, some in Lumbini and Karnali and one or two places in the hilly parts of Koshi. Heavy rains are also occurring in limited areas of Gandaki provinces.

The weather will be generally changeable across the country this afternoon and night. Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and many places in Himalayan and hilly areas of Far West region and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati are likely to experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning. On the Terai side, Lumbini and Terai areas of Far West and many other provinces may experience moderate rain. In the high mountainous areas of the country, there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall.
