DP Aryal unopposed for Speaker

Kathmandu. DP Aryal, deputy chairman of the National Independent Party (RSWP), has been elected unopposed as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives. The nomination registration time for the Speaker's post was fixed from 11 am to 2 pm today. At the appointed time, Aryal's single candidacy was submitted.
Speaker election will be held on March 22. After that, Aryal will formally become the Speaker. Now the Speaker's post is vacant, Arjun Narasimha KC, the senior member of the House of Representatives, has taken over. The opposition parties did not register their candidacy as the RSVP alone had a two-thirds majority. Now, the meeting of the House of Representatives to be held on Sunday will formally announce that Aryal has been elected Speaker.
