Kathmandu. With the possibility of the remnants of the cyclone developing in the Bay of Bengal moving towards Nepal, there is a risk of rain in different parts of the country and snowfall in the high Himalayan region. According to Vibhuti Pokharel, senior meteorologist of Nepal Meteorology Department, there is a possibility of rainfall in Nepal as the system will bring enough water vapor and mix with the upper atmosphere system.

According to Pokharel, the initial forecast is that the effect of the system will last from Thursday evening to Saturday. However, since the system is located in the Bay of Bengal, its speed, intensity and the amount of rain and its impact may change depending on the conditions when it enters Nepal, he said. He said that although there is a possibility of rain, there is no need to panic. But he said that it is necessary to be cautious in risky areas.

He said that special precautions should be taken as those doing tourist activities in the Himalayan region may be at greater risk. Along with the rain, there may be a risk of heavy snowfall, blizzard and avalanche in the high Himalayan region, he said. He suggested not to travel to the Himalayan region as much as possible.
