Dhanya Poornima and Yomari Punhi festival are celebrated by worshiping rice

Kathmandu. On the day of Margashirsh Shukla Purnima, Dhanyapurnima festival is being celebrated today by ritually worshiping and donating rice. After bringing in paddy in November, there is a tradition of worshiping paddy, Ganesha, Kuladevata, Gaidu deity, Goth deity, Maharudra, Mahalakshmi and other deities on Shukla Purnima. 
 
Prof. Dr. Devmani Bhattarai, a theologian and a member of the Nepal Panchang Deliberative Development Committee, who has not done Navannaprashan before, informed the government. On this occasion, fairs are also held in places like Dhaneshwar in Kavrepalanchok, Anantalingeshwar in Bhaktapur, Champadevi in ​​Kathmandu, Shikharbensi in Nuwakot and Dupcheshwar.

The Newar community is celebrating the Yohmari Purnima festival with joy today, in celebration of the introduction of new paddy. Yohmari Purnima is also known as Yomari Punhi. Celebrated as a big festival of the Newar community, this festival is also considered as a delicious food festival. Yomari is made from rice flour made from new paddy, knife and sesame seeds.
