Determining the limit of internal debt for the next financial year
Kathmandu. The National Natural Resources and Finance Commission has determined the limit of internal debt that can be taken by the union, state and local levels for the next fiscal year 2083, 84. Based on macroeconomic conditions, revenue trends, expenditure pressures and financial market conditions, the Commission emphasized on maintaining discipline in debt mobilization and said that formal recommendations have been made to all three levels of government.
According to the commission's recommendation to the government on February 27, the federal government will be allowed to mobilize internal debt only up to a maximum of 5.5 percent of the gross domestic product in the coming year. It is said that this limit has been set to maintain overall stability and ensure the sustainability of loans.
