Demat accounts in Nepal crossed 77 lakhs, 26 percent were linked to stock market
Kathmandu. According to the Nepal Capital Market Development Roadmap, 2083 recently published by the Nepal Securities Board, the number of demat 9 beneficiary accounts in Nepal has reached 77 lakh 66 thousand five hundred and 65. Around 1.7 lakh demat accounts were opened in Nepal till the financial year 2077-78. At present, it is said that more than 26 percent of the total population of Nepal has a demat account.
The highest number of demat accounts were opened in Bagmati province by 34.13 percent, while the lowest number of demat accounts were opened in Karnali province by 2.98 percent.
18.93 percent in Koshi province, 12.46 percent in Gandaki province, 12.14 percent in Lumbini province, 12.68 percent in Madhes province and 6.67 percent in Sudurpaschim province have opened demat accounts. According to the Nepal Capital Market Development Roadmap, 2083, the number of investors who opened my share account has also increased rapidly.
