Dedicated and Trunkline Disputes Resolved: Agreed to connect lines on bail
Kathmandu. In the high-level discussion, a compromise proposal has been agreed on in the dedicated and trunk line dispute. A middle-ground proposal acceptable to both sides has been put forward from the discussion held in the presence of Prime Minister Sushila Karki. Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal, Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Anil Sinha, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, related secretaries and president of Nepal Federation of Industries and Commerce Chandra Prasad Dhakal participated in the meeting held on Monday in the prime minister's office.
According to the proposal prepared in the discussion, there will be a provision for the industrialists to deposit an amount equal to one of the 28 installments demanded by the Nepal Electricity Authority, not as an 'installment' but as a 'disputed amount'. After paying the bond, the cut power lines will be reconnected.
It is mentioned in the proposal that the industrialists who have paid the bond in this way will have the right to review or seek legal remedies. In addition, a provision has been made that the industrialists can clearly mention their disagreements and reasons for review when submitting an application to the authority.
Earlier, Federation President Dhakal met with Prime Minister Karki and Finance Minister Khanal on Sunday to resolve the dispute.
