Damage worth 1 billion in the metropolis alone during the Genji movement
Biratnagar. During the Genji movement, Biratnagar Metropolitan City's physical structure and other goods were damaged to the tune of nearly 1 billion rupees. According to Mayor Nagesh Koirala, there has been damage to the physical structure worth Rs.233758,234. 98 crore 63 lakh 21 thousand 719 rupees have been damaged including physical structures and goods. This will surely affect the development of the metropolis. Mayor Koirala said that it will take some more time for the metropolis to grow. He said that there was no shortage in service delivery. Ward No. 1 to 12 and Ward No. 19 were burnt down along with the administrative building of the metropolis during the Genji movement on August 24. When the administrative building was set on fire, most of the divisions were destroyed.
