Convention Debate Within Congress: Constituent Group Divided

Kathmandu. The leaders of the establishment party of Nepali Congress have become divided. The leaders close to the Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba have become divided after the debate whether before or after the General Assembly elections. On the day before the Central Committee meeting, both the groups are engaged in different internal discussions. The leaders who are in favor of having a convention after the election are in discussion in Baneshwar. 25 people who have submitted a letter of attention to the Acting Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka, demanding that the convention be held before the election, are engaged in discussions in Kupandol.

A central committee meeting has been called to be held at 2 pm on Thursday, while the date of the convention is getting complicated. Before the meeting, other parties are also increasing pressure to make a decision in favor of a special convention as the possibility of a regular convention is diminishing. Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, who returned from Singapore, is also in consultation with the leaders close to him. Even though he did not go to the meeting because of the Kawa, Deuba is in constant communication by calling the party leaders at his residence.
