Construction permission for 10 hydropower projects till mid-October

Kathmandu. The Electricity Development Department has granted construction permits to a total of 10 hydropower projects in the first quarter of the current year. The total capacity of that project is equal to 241.50 megawatts. The department has granted construction permits to 266 projects so far. It is mentioned in the details provided by the department that the total capacity of those projects is 10,825 megawatts.

By the end of October of the current year, the department has granted construction permits to Lapa River 4.72 MW, Lower Barun 132 MW, Myagdi River B 12.50 MW, Lower Likhu Cascade 6 MW.

So far, the department has granted survey permission to a total of 185 projects. Similarly, a total of 59 projects of the department have applied for construction permits. The total capacity of those projects is equal to 10,532 megawatts.
