Kathmandu. Minister of Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has launched free internet service at the new bus park in Gongbu. Minister of Communications Kharel, who was reinstated on October 6 with the decision to provide free Wi-Fi access to important public places in Kathmandu Valley, today launched the New Bus Park Pagi service.

On that occasion, he informed that free internet service has been installed at 19 locations in Kathmandu Valley including New Bus Park. "According to the commitment made during the restoration of office as a minister, we have started free internet service connection, we will gradually expand it outside the valley", explained Minister of Communications Kharel.

Informing that the government is working to extend internet service to remote areas including the capital Kathmandu, he said, "We have already provided internet service to Tilicho basecamp in Darchula, Bajhang, Jajarkot and Manang. The government is working with priority to provide effective internet service to places with weak network such as Solukhumbu, Ramechhap, Rautahat, Myagdi, Baitadi."

Mentioning that the government has set a goal of providing free internet services to the capitals of all seven provinces, Minister Kharel informed that the necessary work is being done in terms of providing telephone and internet services to all the villages (towns, remote areas) of the country. Communications Secretary Radhika Aryal said that the capacity of the internet will be expanded across the country keeping in view the development in the field of information technology, resources and customer demand. Nepal Telecommunication Authority Chairman Bhupendra Bhandari, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Communications, the new bus park, He informed that free Wi-Fi internet service has been extended to various big hospitals, Pashupatinath temple area complex, sensitive and important places near the airport in Kathmandu.
