Chennai's first win in Sanju's explosive century, Delhi defeated by 23 runs

Kathmandu. Chennai Super Kings, who suffered three consecutive defeats in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League IPL, registered their first win by defeating Delhi Capitals by 23 runs on Saturday night. Chasing the huge target of 213 runs presented by Chennai in the match at the Chepauk Stadium, Delhi could score only 189 runs after losing all the wickets in 20 overs.

Sanju Samson scored an explosive century for Chennai who lost the toss and batted first. He scored an unbeaten 115 runs off just 56 balls and took the team to a strong total of 212 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. This is the third century of his IPL career scored by three different teams Rajasthan, Delhi and Chennai. Young batsman Ayush Mhatre gave him excellent support by scoring 59 runs in 36 balls, and towards the end Shivam Dubey made an aggressive contribution of 20 runs in 10 balls.

Delhi batsmen got off to a mediocre start but could not sustain against the lethal bowling of Chennai's Jamie Overton. After Overton took only 18 runs and took 4 important wickets, Delhi fell behind the target by 23 runs.  Sanju Samson was adjudged player of the match for his brilliant performance.
