Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Kathmandu. The 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities is being celebrated today with various programs. The government, concerned agencies and various organizations active in this field have organized various programs on the occasion of the day. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been celebrated every year since 1992 on the 3rd of December on the initiative of the United Nations to promote the rights of citizens with disabilities.
This year, the theme of this day is 'Promotion of Disability Inclusive Society: Promotion of Social Advancement'. Celebrated around the world on December 3 every year, the day reaffirms the common resolve to ensure the rights, equality, inclusion and respect of persons with disabilities.
There is an imperative need to provide facilities to people with disabilities in offices, schools, public vehicles, roads, parks, monasteries, government and public and private structures, etc.
