Bus accident in Baitadi: Five more killed, death toll rises to 13
Kathmandu. The death toll in the bus accident in Baitadi has reached 13. According to the police, five more people died last night among the injured in the accident. Sup PR 02 001 B 1119 bus, which was going to Sunkuda in Bajhang from Purchoudi Municipality-7 Bhawane of Baitadi, overturned at Bargaon turn of Purchoudi yesterday evening.
8 people died instantly in the accident. Five more people died during the night. District Police Office Baitadi has informed that only five people have been identified among the deceased. The police say that they are trying to identify the rest. Another 35 people were injured in the accident. Some of them are still in serious condition. The injured are being treated at local hospitals, district hospitals and Dadeldhura and Dhangadhi.
The police believe that the bus may have met with an accident due to excessive load on the uphill road. The bus fell about 200 meters from the road.
