Kathmandu. The voting for the selection of new leadership under the 11th Congress of CPN-UML was successfully completed on Thursday morning. The Election Committee is currently doing the technical work of preparing vouchers and securing chips for all 80 electronic voting machines used in voting.

In the election, out of a total of 2,263 congress representatives, 2,227 people have exercised their right to vote, while 36 representatives have been absent from the voting process. 

Although the voting process has been completed, some technical steps are still left to publish the results. The details of the votes and ballots cast in each machine are being set up separately.

According to the election committee, it is estimated that it will take about 2 minutes to prepare a voucher for one machine, due to which it will take around 2 hours and 40 minutes to prepare a full voucher for 80 machines. Only then the chips will be sealed and collected at the center based on the code number of the machine.

UML said that after all the technical preparations are completed, a meeting of all parties will be held and only after that the final processing of the vote count will be officially announced. Due to the use of electronic machines, the calculation process will be faster and the result will be declared from 10 am.
