He returned to Bangladesh only recently after spending 17 years in exile in Britain. The 11-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami has won only 45 seats so far. Jamaat chief Sifuqar Rehman has won Dhaka 15. Other parties and independent candidates have won three seats.

Rahman returned to the country after 17 years in December last year.
