Bank interest became cheaper in July, 6 banks cut, which one has how much?
Kathmandu. All 20 commercial banks have announced the new deposit interest rates applicable for the month of July. Looking at the public rates, it is seen that the average interest rate of deposits has further decreased in July compared to June.
The maximum average interest rate offered by banks on personal fixed deposits has been limited to 4.17 percent for July, while it was 4.26 percent in June. The average interest rate for institutional term deposits also decreased from 3.18 percent to 3.12 percent.
The largest reduction in interest rates during this period was made by the National Commercial Bank. The bank has reduced the maximum interest rate for individual deposits by 0.75 percentage points, while it has reduced it by 1 percentage point for institutional deposits. Similarly, Global IME Bank has reduced the interest rate on personal deposits by 0.5 percentage points to 4 percent.
