Kathmandu. The Bagmati state government has adjusted the fares of public vehicles running on petrol and diesel. The new rate has been determined through the decision of the Minister of Labour, Employment and Transport on Friday. The new fare has been implemented from Saturday, Chait 28. According to this, the minimum fare for passenger vehicles operating within the Kathmandu Valley has been set at Rs 24, which is applicable for a distance of up to five kilometers. Earlier, the fare for that distance was Rs. 19.

According to the notification published in the provincial gazette, the fare has been gradually increased according to the distance. The fare up to 10 km is Rs 33, up to 15 km is Rs 39 and up to 20 km is Rs 44. For the distance above 20 km, the fare has been fixed at 50 rupees. The starting fee for the taxi service is fixed at Rs 58 and every 200 meters the fare will be Rs 12.
