Army deployment for elections, special operations to catch looted weapons and absconding prisoners

Kathmandu. The army will be mobilized for the security of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for February 21. Based on the recommendations made by the Council of Ministers, President Ramchandra Paudel, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Nepalese Army, gave approval for the deployment of the army, and the decision to deploy the army has been implemented. According to the spokesperson of the President's Office, Pradeep Kumar Koirala, on Thursday, President Paudel approved the recommendation made by the Council of Ministers.
In the House of Representatives Election-2082 Integrated Security Plan prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it was decided to jointly deploy the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal and National Investigation Department for the security of the upcoming elections. Nepali Army Spokesperson Rajaram Basnet said that the Nepali Army will provide necessary security in coordination with other security agencies as per the Integrated Security Plan for the House of Representatives Election-2082.
