After Simra's tension, Prachanda's appeal: Stop violence, adopt moderation

Main News Image

Kathmandu. The Coordinator of Nepali Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has urged all parties to exercise high restraint so that the growing tension in Bara's Simra does not get out of control. On Thursday, through social media, he said, serious attention has been drawn to the ongoing tension and violence in Bara's Simra since yesterday. Political and ideological differences are natural in a democracy, but turning them into violence or incitement is not part of democratic culture.

He has drawn the attention of the government to ensure an environment in which all parties and leaders can move freely and hold meetings while respecting political and freedom of expression. He has appealed to all the parties to be responsible and alert so that the upcoming elections are conducted peacefully and fairly so that no activity has a negative impact. Prachanda also instructed the local party structure to play a supportive role in normalizing the situation.
