African Swine Fever Confirmed in Bangur, Urges to Be Vigilant
Kanchanpur. The infection of 'African Swine Fever' has been confirmed in Bangur reared in different places of Kailali and Kanchanpur. African swine fever has been confirmed by a technical test conducted after some time, high fever, blue and red spots appear in different parts of the body and sudden death of boars that have been raised commercially.
Livestock Disease Research Laboratory Dhangadhi mobilized Rapid Response Team RRT and collected samples at the local level. Naresh Prasad Joshi, Senior Veterinarian of the Laboratory, informed that after the results were positive when tested by 'Rapid Antigen' method, the samples were sent to the Central Animal Disease Research Laboratory, Kathmandu, but the disease was confirmed by PCR method. According to him, till now, this infection has been seen in chickens reared by farmers in Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city of Kailali, Ghodaghodi municipality and Krishnapur municipality area of Kanchanpur.
