Advertising Board's request not to use misleading advertisements and deepfakes in elections
Kathmandu. The advertisement board said that all political parties, candidates and supporters have a common responsibility to make the election for the post of members of the House of Representatives clean, dignified and credible.
In the press release issued by the board on Thursday, it has been mentioned that during the elections, complaints have been received that there is an increase in the activity of creating confusion, directly or indirectly, by using various means including social media to influence any party, candidate or leader-activist.
Stating that there has been an agreement between the Election Commission and the Advertising Board to monitor, regulate, investigate and take action on advertisements during the election period, the board has made it clear that it is closely monitoring election-related advertisements. It is mentioned in the statement that strict monitoring is being done against the act of misleading, misleading and using misleading audio and audio visual materials.
