About 52 crore relief will be provided to the farmers within a week

Kathmandu. The Department of Animal Services has prepared to provide Rs 52 crore to farmers within a week as compensation for birds and goods destroyed during disease control in 11 districts affected by bird flu. The department has prepared to provide 75 percent relief based on the assessment of the amount of damage to the farmers for the destroyed birds, eggs and grains of the farmers during disease control.

Mukul Upadhyay, the spokesperson of the department, informed that the amount will be paid to the bank account of the concerned owners who have claimed the damage of poultry, poultry products and poultry production materials within a week. According to him, funds will be provided in the new financial year to the farmers who have not received compensation by the end of June. 

According to the bird flu control regulations, relief will be distributed to the farmers after assessing the proven damage. Spokesperson of the department, Upadhyay, asked the concerned farmers to submit an application to the District Animal Services Office along with all the proofs of destruction of birds and bird products.
