50% of rice planting has been completed across the country: most in Far West, less in Koshi and Madhesh!

Kathmandu. About 50 percent of paddy planting has been completed across the country so far. According to the Department of Agriculture, this year, while the target is to plant rice in an area of ​​13 lakh 70 thousand hectares, so far planting in an area of ​​6 lakh 82 thousand hectares has been completed.

Director General of the Department Rajendra Koirala informed that last year 60% planting was done till this period but this year only 50% planting has been completed.  Province-wise, the highest amount of planting has been done in Far West, 87 percent. After that, 65.9 percent planting has been done in Gandaki, 60 percent in Karnali, 59 percent in Lumbini and 57.1 percent in Bagmati. According to the department, only 32 percent of Koshi and 32.7 percent of Madhes have been planted.
