5 people were arrested for setting fire to the resort saying Prachanda's investment
Pokhara. During the Gen-G movement, the police have arrested 5 people on the charge of arson and looting at Barpeople Resort on the lakeside of Pokhara. According to District Police Office Kaski, those arrested are 29-year-old Rupak Nepali, 42-year-old Khadk Bahadur Thapa of Pokhara-18, 32-year-old Khumraj Gurung, 47-year-old Navraj Khadka and 27-year-old Elisa Gurung.
Arrested Rupak is a karate instructor. On August 24th, the protestors repeatedly reached Barpipal and attempted arson and looting.
Although the hotel staff and well-wishers repeatedly sent reminders, in the end, fire was set in Barpipal. The arsonists accused Maoist Chairman Prachanda of having an investment in Barpipal. Resort director Jeetu Gurung denied the allegation in clear words.
