40 killed in bus accident in Pakistan

Kathmandu. At least 40 people were killed when a passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged more than 20 meters into a river in western Pakistan on Friday, officials said. Head of Zhob District Emergency Center Sanaullah Serani has confirmed that 40 people died and 11 others were injured when a passenger bus traveling from Quetta to Peshawar fell into a deep river in Pahadi Dana Sar area.

Serani said that the passengers who were injured in the accident were taken to the hospital and the condition of three of them was serious. Serani said that the accident took place after the bus fell about 21 to 24 meters into the river. He said that since the accident happened in a remote mountainous area, difficulties were faced in the rescue.
