337,000 security personnel are being mobilized

Kathmandu. Three hundred thirty-seven thousand security personnel will be mobilized for the House of Representatives elections. Army, Armed Police, Nepal Police and Election Police will be mobilized in this number for this election to be held in one phase. This time there are more candidates than in the 2079 election. This year, there are 3,213 candidates in 110 proportional seats, and 3,406 candidates have filed for 165 direct seats.

There were 2,412 direct candidates in the last House of Representatives election. In 2079, there were 1 crore 79 lakh 88 thousand 570 voters, this time it has increased to 1 crore 89 lakh 3 thousand 689.

Out of 10,892 polling stations, 11,901 polling stations have been designated this time. Among them, there are only 4000 highly sensitive polling stations. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the number of highly sensitive polling stations has been increased due to security challenges. About 80,000 from the army, about 71,000 from the police, about 35,000 from the armed forces, about 2,000 from the National Investigation Department and 149,000 election policemen with a 40-day tenure have been mobilized for election security.

In the 2079 election, around 3 lakh security personnel were mobilized with 1 lakh 15 thousand security personnel. At that time, 71 polling stations in 35 districts were vandalized and 15 polling stations were affected. 32 places were fired from the air.
