25 inter-caste married couples honoured
Myagdi. Malika rural municipality of Myagdi has honored 25 couples with inter-caste marriages with Dalit community with cash. According to the rural municipality, 25 couples who had inter-caste marriages were honored with 3,500 cash each in the program held on Sunday from the allocated budget under the targeted community program.
Chairman of the rural municipality Beg Prasad Garbuja said that since caste discrimination still exists in the society, the honor program was organized with the aim of encouraging inter-caste marriage and conveying the message of ending discrimination. He said, 'There is still a big wall of caste discrimination in our society.
It is necessary to end the caste discrimination that has existed for centuries. From all the seven wards of the municipality, we have tried to convey the message that caste discrimination should be ended by respecting the senior citizens who have inter-caste marriages with the Dalit community.
