150 people were arrested in Paripatara, Kathmandu alone to carry out police 'oppression'

Kathmandu. The police have been trying to carry out 'oppression' against people who engage in various activities that cause problems in the delivery of public services, and 150 people have been arrested in Kathmandu alone in the last 24 hours. According to Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Spokesman of the District Police Complex, Kathmandu, people who work against the law by acting as middlemen, hooliganism and causing trouble to passengers in various areas have been arrested through special operations. 

Bhattarai informed that 189 people have been arrested under this operation in the last one week. "Mainly in the name of providing public services, we have conducted operations against those who cause suffering, harassment, middleman activities in public places, bus parks, airports, transport offices and hooliganism in various places," he said. "This campaign is ongoing."

He said that surveillance is being carried out in the night business areas of Kathmandu and 16 people involved in total hooliganism have been arrested. He said that all the arrested people are being investigated and legal action will be taken based on their involvement.
