11 men and 6 women died in the Dhading bus accident, foreign nationals were also killed
Kathmandu. It has been confirmed that 6 women and 11 men died when a passenger bus coming from Pokhara to Kathmandu fell into the Trishuli river. 27 injured have been rescued and sent to different hospitals. According to Chief District Officer of Dhading, Vijayraj Subedi, the identities of the dead and injured are yet to be revealed.
Foreign tourists were also involved in the accident. One is a citizen of New Zealand. The G1K 1421 bus, which was coming from Pokhara towards Kathmandu under the Prithvi Highway, fell on the bank of Trishuli River from a place called Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5 Bhainsegowda in Dhading at around 1 am. The bus was found in a damaged condition after falling about 300 meters from the road.
According to him, 27 people including 8 women, 18 men and a girl were rescued from the scene and sent to different hospitals. 6 women and 11 men died. Army, Armed Forces and Nepal Police teams were deployed at the accident site for rescue. A team led by DSP Sunil Giri from the Armed Police Force's Disaster Management Base Adamghat and a team with divers from the Disaster Management Training Institute Kurintar were also deployed in the rescue.
