Crisis over the unity agreement: Kulman Ordut is preparing to move from the Nepal Party after increasing distance with the RSVP
Kathmandu. Less than two weeks after the unity agreement with the Rashtriya Swatantra Party RSWP, Kulman Ghising has moved towards separating from the RSWP. Leaders close to Kulman are saying that it is almost certain that the bright Nepal Party, UNEPA and Raswapa, which Kulman has promoted without a new and concrete agreement, will not be established immediately.
Kulman, who tried to announce the end of unity with the RSVP when he resigned from the post of minister on Wednesday, was stopped when his relatives asked him to discuss it with Chairman Ravi Lamichhane. According to this, sources claim that even though there was a discussion with Ravi on Friday, the meeting failed to yield any consensus.
After the discussion, Kulman told the leaders close to him that they cannot move forward together with the RASWP. "Now it is certain that the Bright Nepal Party will move forward, the situation can change only if a very big agreement is reached," said a leader who participated in the discussion in Buddh on Friday.
At the time of registration with the Election Commission, Anupakumar Upadhyay is the patron of the Bright Nepal Party, which is chaired by Kulman. During the discussion at Buddh, he shared the dialogue with the RSP and the issues raised there with the party leaders. The leaders say that Kulman's complaint is that they did not get a satisfactory answer regarding the ranking, the number of central committees and the assurance of proportional MPs.
Kulman has claimed that if there is an agreement with the RSVP, he will be ranked second and there should be 26 members in the central committee. In addition, he also put forward the demand that at least 6 MPs should be kept in the candidate list in order to ensure proportional representation. But Ravi Lamichhane replied that although up to 21 members can be given in the Central Committee, proportional representation of MPs cannot be ensured.
